🍷Brewery

Drink up!

Process

Brewery has several steps to create a complete brew. Brews can have various levels of properties depending on their quality levels.

Fermenting

To start the process of brewing, you will first need to ferment your craft. You do this by:

  1. Place a Cauldron over a heat source (fire, campfire, etc.)

  2. Fill it fully with water

  3. Add ingredients using right click

  4. Wait a couple of minutes

  5. Fill glass bottles with the cauldron's brew

You can use a clock on a cauldron to see how much time the ingredents have been fermenting.

Distilling

Not all recipes are required to be distilled. For recipes that do require distilling, this is what you do:

  1. Put the bottle with the fermented brew into a brewing stand

  2. Put glowstone dust as a filter on top into the brewing stand (The filter will not be consumed)

Aging

To age a brew, you will need to place it in some form of barrel. In this situation, there are two different classes of barrels that have differing amounts of slots.

Small Barrel

You can create a small barrel with 8 wooden stair blocks and a sign labelled "Barrel" in the bottom right corner of a barrel. This will create a barrel with 9 slots available for aging.

Large Barrel

A large barrel has 27 slots available for aging. Use 5 Fences, 16 wooden stairs, and 18 wood planks to build a barrel shape. Attach a fence and a sign that has "Barrel" written on it:

If you successfully created a barrel, a message in chat entitled "Barrel created" should appear.

Using Barrels

You can open the barrel by simply right clicking on it.

  • Put the bottles into the barrel for aging.

  • For every Minecraft day, the brews will age a year.

  • Depending on the recipe, the type of wood used for building the barrel may alter the quality of the aged brew.

Barrel Locking

Barrels will be protected by town permissions; however, you can lock your barrel by using the command /cprivate and clicking on the sign of the barrel. This will prevent all other players from being able to access your barrel.

Usage

Drinking

The Amount of Alcohol inside the Brew will be applied to the player when drinking. Depending on the quality of it, that may have different effects.

  • The player may not be able to walk normally anymore, he will weave, making it almost impossible to walk straight.

  • Effects like blindness, confusion, and poison occur.

  • The chat will be altered depending on drunkenness, many things players write may be incomprehensible, sometimes it seems senseless.

  • After drinking a lot, there is a chance of vomiting.

  • When logging off, the player may have difficulties reaching his character, thus some loggins shortly after may be denied.

  • After overdrinking the player may faint (disconnecting).

Getting Sober

After drinking it takes a while until the alcohol is completely gone. During that time the alcohol level is steadily decreasing. It also can be decreased through drinking milk.

  • When logging off extremely drunk, it may happen that, if the player logs back in after a while, he may find himself at a completely unknown place in the middle of nowhere.

  • If players log back in after several hours or the next morning, he will find himself at /home without any recollection.

  • If the alcohol was a poor-quality brew, the player may face hangover (slowness and hunger).
