❤️Getting Started

Your guide on how to get started on Project Freedom

Basics

As mentioned previously, Project Freedom is a roleplay server centered around democracy. However, it does still contain survival elements.

👋 Hello, World!

Upon joining for the server for the first time, you will more than likely be greeted by our community. Make sure to say "hello" back, as our goal will always be to build a tight-knit and engaged community.

Feel free to wander around spawn for a bit, as it is your nation's capital: Washington, D.C. (District of Columbia). You'll get to see some great builds, including the Congress (Capitol) building, the White House, the Washington Monument, or the Lincoln Memorial.

🏛️ Joining a Town

In order to get anywhere on Project Freedom, you will have to join a town, or else you will remain homeless with no transportation abilities.

Try asking the server's chat if there are any towns recruiting new members, and use /accept to join the town that you are interested in.

Alternatively, you could ask on Discord, use the Discord server's forum and search for a recruiting town there, or type the command /t list by open to see a list of public towns, then use /t join <town> to join one.

Once you join a town, you can teleport to your town's spawn using the command /t spawn. Additionally, you can now teleport to other towns using /t spawn <name>. You can return to the capital using /spawn.

If you do not like the town you have joined for any given reason, you always have the ability to leave it using /t leave.

🚩 Claiming Land

On Project Freedom, the only areas where players can have free range to build and destroy is either in the countryside (outside of towns), or on owned property.

To be able to build, you will need to claim a plot. Plots are 16x16 blocks of land (otherwise referred to as chunks) that can be rented out to other players.

Your town's mayor, or another assistant, can likely refer you to a plot that you can claim and have access to. Ask them if there is a plot available. Be aware of your town's codes though, they may require you to occupy a pre-built building instead of empty land.

Once you find a plot, stand in it and use the command /plot claim. Be careful though, plots can be sold for money and may not be properly free. You are given $30 to begin with, so any plot you purchase must be under this amount.

You will now have full access to the plot you just claimed, from y -64 to y 312. You will be able to place blocks, destroy blocks, switch blocks, and more.

🏙️ Your New Town

Project Freedom is a very social server. You will be strongly encouraged to interact with the other members around you.

Your new town will be a great place to get to know the community. Chat around with people, offer your help with creating the town, and help to improve your town as a whole. Furthermore, you can ask questions to your fellow citizens, and you will be given a response.

There are several "Chat Channels" that Project Freedom uses to help us manage our chat.

If you see someone speaking in blue text with a [TC] tag next to them, they are speaking in your town's local chat. Use /tc to switch to this channel. To get back to the global channel where everyone can see your messages, use /g.

We strongly recommend using Discord, a platform that we heavily use for communication. From there, you can join the server's discord, and additionally, your state's Discord.

Use /discord to get a link to the server's Discord that you can click on.
